The film managed to hang on well after a very good opening weekend and demonstrated sustained collections over the weekdays with second weekend doing good as well. Turning out to be a pan-India success, 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' is now a reason for Yash Raj Films to rejoice as well after 'Band Baaja Baaraat'.
What has also worked in favour of 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' is the fact that Imran Khan has seen a huge revival of sorts after 'Delhi Belly', 'I Hate Luv Storys' and to an extent 'Break Ke Baad'. On the other hand Katrina Kaif too is coming fresh out of the success of 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', something that must have played in audience mind. Not to forget good music and some terrific promotion that Chopras ventured upon this time around.
All said and done, the film is a clear success now and with 60 crores collections pretty much in sight, it is now a clean hit. For Bollywood in general as well as audience, it is indeed a golden period running with successive hits being churned out week after week. Here is wishing that the trend just continues!
