Emma Watson versus Katrina Kaif

two leading ladies of two films of the moment. and their look books couldn’t have been more different. 2 pits emma watson against katrina kaif for a style check in the times of harry potter and the deathly hallows part 2 and zindagi na milegi dobara
Emma Watson
Frills, a not-so-easy silhouette with a tricky black and gold combination, and yet Emma Watson makes it work like wow. Hermione casts a spell in this Rafael Lopez mini dress, showing off her long, toned legs. The chic pixie hairstyle gets feminine with tiny drop earrings. And the killer high heels on those killer legs up the glam quotient.

Fun, frothy and dramatically fairy tale-like, Emma looks a very GenY princess. The gorgeous Oscar de la Renta gown with a silvery embellished bodice and a flirty full skirt in tulle turns the busy bookworm from Hogwarts into the belle of the ball!

From gorgeous gold to silver shimmer — the fully embroidered Elie Saab cocktail number sits like a dream on Emma. A dress that might have looked grey on most others lends her an ethereal charm. And the hint of a sheer bodice makes it sexy. Chopard earrings add the dazzle.

Gorgeous in gold. She wears a grand Bottega Veneta dress with a linen bust and a stunning full skirt in flame-coloured satin. The look is styled with slicked back hair, and smoky black eyes. Dainty earrings by Lorraine Schwartz complement the neckline.

Katrina Kaif

Katrina wears a form-fitting Gavin Miguel dress, with gold detailing on the bust. Known to favour solid colours and simple lines, the plunging blingy neckline seems like a first on her. But is that necessarily a good thing? Her boring black peep toes and same old blow-dried hair left open, all so matchy-matchy we could yawn. We love you Kat, but....

A loose white shirt paired with a high-waist black skirt and pretty drop earrings. Sounds all good but looks all boring. If she didn’t have that million-dollar face that get up could have passed of as a flight attendant’s uniform! The hair obviously stays the same as ever. Wish she would have borrowed some zing from the free-spirited deep-sea diver that she plays in ZNMD.

Katrina looks delicious in this tangerine draped dress. The shocking colour works for her skin tone as well as her signature look — minimal make-up and almost invisible accessories. The bold shade is a good start. Next time could we see some colour blocking in the form of a contrast clutch?

Yes yes, we know that an LBD is every girl’s BFF but let’s not take it for granted. The silhouette is great, it flatters her figure and she looks SUPER. But wait, black shoes? Wanted: A little bit of imagination/ better stylist/ accessory shopping spree.
